THE ROOMS:
Our live room is treated by ProSoCoustic, and is large enough for drum tracking, or recording an ensemble. Our iso-booth is also treated with ProSoCoustic Paneling, and is large enough to comfortably record a vocalist, acoustic player, or gang vocal. Both the live room and iso-booth are constructed with floating walls and a floating ceiling.
Our control Room is also treated with ProSoCoustic absorption and diffusion, and all three rooms receive power from an isolated ground source. There is audio and video communication back and forth between the live rooms and control room, simplifying the recording process.
THE CONSOLE: Midas Verona 320
Our console is configured as a line level mixer in our workflow. We do not use its internal microphone preamplifiers. We utilize its layout for analog grouping and summing in both the channel and monitor paths, sending to artist monitor mixes while tracking, taking advantage of auxiliary sends to monitor and/or print effects live while tracking or to route them into the mix later, and to utilize the channel strip EQs for analog boosts on elements in the mix. Our final mixes or stems are summed through the console and printed back to the DAW.
